Designed for optimum performance in Partial State of Charge (PSoC) applications, the PLC series is ideal for residential or light commercial off-grid, backup, or self-consumption applications.

PLC batteries use a specially formulated carbon additive that enhances the battery’s energy density and life expectancy. High charge rates allow a PLC 2100 to go from 50% up to 90% state of charge in under an hour. The PLC series offers affordable and durable performance, with a cycle life of 3000 cycles at 50% depth-of-discharge. A PLC has a low self-discharge rate, with 2 year shelf life. All these factors contribute to a lower cost/kWh cycle over the life of the battery, when compared to similarly-performing lead-acid batteries.

Each 12-Volt PLC has a capacity of 2160Wh, and up to 4 units can be wired in parallel. PLC batteries can be used in 12, 24, or 48 Volt configurations, to be made compatible with any 12-volt, 24-volt, or 48-volt inverter.

The PLC 2100 has a wide operating temperature range, and can charge at temperatures between -4°F – 113°F, and discharge at an even greater range, from -40°F – 131°F. Because the PLC is an AGM battery, it does not require regular watering. No water to check means convenience and peace of mind.

Boxborough, Massachusetts (February 19, 2020)KiloVault, a provider of innovative and affordable residential and commercial renewable energy solutions, this week unveiled the new HAB seriesof wall-mount energy storage systems. Designed for trouble-free mounting, the HAB provides a 7.5kWh battery in a single unit. Up to 14 units can be wired in parallel to provide up to 3.3mWh of storage per month.

The HAB can sustain continuous charging at up to 120A, and continuous discharging up to 150A, with a peak discharge of 500A for up to 3 seconds. The HAB 7.5 can charge at temperatures between 32°F – 113°F, and discharge at an even greater range, from -4°F – 140°F.

Because lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) technology is neither subject to the thermal run-away issues that other lithium technologies may experience, nor the dangerous off-gassing associated with lead-acid batteries, a HAB is safe to store in your home or garage. This is an excellent and cost-effective way to keep your batteries sheltered, and at operating temperature. In addition, a HAB does not require regular watering, desulphating, or equalizing, making for an incredibly safe and low-maintenance battery.

The HAB series is compatible with any 48-volt inverter, and can store power from a variety of sources. Each HAB contains a non-toxic, thermally stable LiFePO4 battery with UL1642-certified cells.

New Cold-Rated Lithium Batteries from KiloVault

Boxborough, Massachusetts (February 5, 2020) – KiloVault, a provider of innovative and affordable residential and commercial renewable energy solutions, this week unveiled the new CHLX line of heavy-duty, Cold-Rated Lithium Batteries. The CHLX comes in 1,800 Wh and 3,600 Wh models, each capable of handling 150A of continuous charging/discharging current.

CHLX batteries use KiloVault’s internal heating technology to continue charging at subzero temperatures. As the ambient temperature dips below freezing (32ºF/0°C), the charging current is rerouted through a heating film in the battery, allowing it to maintain an internal temperature above freezing. Once this is accomplished, the battery can resume normal charging.

The CHLX series is as flexible in application as the non-cold-rated HLX series, and can be used in 12, 24, or 48 Volt configurations. Using 16 units in a 4×4 configuration yields a maximum of 14.4 kWh at 48 Volts. This means a lower cost/kWh cycle over the life of the system – giving customers the best value, and flexibility to expand their storage capacity as needed.

The CHLX series does not require active cooling, as KiloVault’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology isn’t subject to the thermal run-away issues that other lithium technologies may experience. With none of the dangerous off-gassing associated with lead-acid batteries, CHLX batteries are safe to store in your home or garage. A CHLX does not require regular watering, desulphating, or equalizing, making for an incredibly safe and low-maintenance battery.

The CHLX outperforms comparable lead-acid batteries as well. It stores and discharges energy more efficiently, yielding 12% more usable stored energy than a comparable lead-acid. Further, over the life of a CHLX battery, the cost per watt-hour stored per cycle will be less than that of lead-acid batteries.
